who are smart guys?
We are a professional, family run business, spanning four generations with over 40 years experience in dry cleaning and laundry services.
My father and grandfather set up a family run dry cleaning business in 1966. After spending many years working for the family business, learning the trade and undergoing expert training, in 1985 I set up shop in Pinner to process the specialist work for my father’s business, Dandyclean.
In 1991, my business became independent of my father’s and Smart Guys Dry Cleaners was born. We pride ourselves on our family values, achieving the highest standards and quality of services within the industry in a personal, yet professional way.
I continue to run Smart Guys from our premises in Pinner, North West London, and my team now includes my son, Zak. I’m happy to say Zak shares the same passion for textiles having undergone specialist training, making it the fourth generation to join the business.

Smart Guys was named the 2022 Drycleaner/Wetcleaner of the year at the 2022 Laundry and Drycleaning Awards (LADAs).
Winning this award was a huge honour for us, as the LADAs are recognised as the pinnacle celebration of the laundry and dry cleaning industry. Now in its eighth year, the LADAs recognise companies, individuals, services and products which stand out from the crowd, bringing a new level of customer service and professionalism to the industry and helping it face the challenges of changing society and technology head-on.

BEING GREENER
At Smart Guys, we are committed to a providing a greener, more ecologically friendly approach. Conscious of our responsibility to the environment, we aim to use the greenest dry cleaning and laundry solutions while still effectively cleaning your garments.
We use newly developed HiGlo as our cleaning solvent, a biodegradable and an environmentally-friendly alternative to perchloroethylene. This gentler solution has an excellent cleaning effect to tackle dirt and stains but is gentle on the fabric and protects against colour fade with a light pleasant smell.
As well as replacing abrasive chemicals, we are also actively trying to make every possible effort to keep single-use packaging to a minimum, reducing waste and using recyclable or biodegradable materials.
This is a huge challenge for the industry, as plastic-free alternatives are often incredibly expensive or simply not available. We have recently invested in our own reusable laundry bags to encourage customers to send their garments to us in these reusable bags, reducing the need for plastic. Where possible we also use biodegradable polythene, and we encourage our customers to reuse or return all the packaging elements used with their orders, from hangers to clips.
We also support sustainably-minded consumers by helping to clean and fix second-hand fashion and extend the life of vintage and designer garments.
For our printed materials, we have committed to ensuring that all our future printing will be printed on recycled and recyclable paper and card that are FSC-Certified wherever possible.
